It is called the Bear for a reason. It is surprising how hard it is to breath through this WOD. Inspiring efforts by everyone in this morning.
75, 95, 115, 135, 145(PR by 10lbs)
For those that we haven't seen in a while, there are no more 1st hour classes. Hopefully we'll see you around again. Just saying.
100, 110, 120, 130, 145(f), 145(f)
Sets of 145 were close, but not complete. First time I got through the back squat on the seventh set and hit muscle failure on the push press. Second time I got through the front squat on the seventh set and hit muscle failure on the push press. So close...but no cigar!! I will get 145 next time. Thanks to MarkR and JWhips for the encouragement.
Major props to JWhips for a PR at 145. Awesome effort. Did you PR also, MarkR?
NM - I didn't know the Bear was today or else I would have been there.
I will see you all tomorrow. Bringing a little of the Math Dept love to the AM tomorrow.
75, 85, 95, 105, 115 (F after four complete reps)
First time with the Bear. I knew it was going to be rough and it was worse than I thought...I definitely could have used the motivation from the AM crew today!
95, 1115, 135 (PR), 125, 115.
I'm almost certain these words have passed my lips before...I underestimated The Bear. Went up too fast in weight and had to come back down. I PR'd by 10 lbs, though, so a good WOD.
85, 105, 125, 135, 155 (f on 4th rep)
This workout was completely mental. The hardest part for me was controlling the bar after the push press as it descended to my back or shoulders. I definitely sat in the back squat position for a while to rest.
Nothing stellar for me today - just wanted to get through the workout and not sacrifice any form to get weight.
65,85x4 - still demoralizing.
Huge effort by NM and JW. Zach - you're beastliness is missed in the mornings. Glad to see you're still hittin' it on leave. Make sure you e-mail Alex not Andy and tell him to get to the gym!! And congrats from all of us at B&G on graduation and commissioning!
First time post(hope no one minds). Been following B&G for about 3 weeks now. Using this format here at Schofield Barracks, HI and will use downrange as well.
First attempt at the Bear.
65, 85, 95, 75, 75
Shoulders burned. Need to get a little more stronger mentally and I think I will be more confident with my posts.
Thanks for the site. Keep up the great work.
Ryan, welcome to our site. I'm glad that you're posting. It always makes things better. Keep up the good work in HI and good luck when you head down range. Hopefully we'll be seeing you more on here.
Ryan, Welcome to the team...thanks for joining us. As you can tell by the fact I'm checking out the site at 2350, I'm an addict. Thanks again for joining us...let us know if we can do anything to help as you prepare to deploy.
I'm TDY so will see you guys on Wednesday AM. Have a good one...later.
