Why we have a Freddy's Revenge. (We'll call it Freddy's Cousin)

5 rounds of:

5 x 275lb Dead lift *(Thanks to Dan Hogan for pointing out my mistake. Games weight was 275lb not 255lb)
10 x Burpees

This workout is why there is a Freddy's Revenge. The workout above is one that was done at last year's CrossFit games. Freddy C. is a CrossFit Level 3 trainer who felt he would have fared better in the CrossFit games if they would have not done dead lifts and instead gone overhead with weight. Jason Kalipa proved him wrong but it gave us two good workouts instead of one. Remember, burpees are chest to floor, fully open hips at the top, with a jump and clap overhead.

On another note, I would like to charge NM with a violation of the Crossfit Code of Ethics. Specifically, Article 14 which states that a Crossfitter will not grossly underestimate their strength, speed or stamina when talking to other Crossfitters in order to gain a psychological advantage before a workout. NM stated this morning,"I have never even done 275lbs deadlift, I am probably going to have to scale aftrer the first round." He then proceed to finish the workout as rx'd in under 6:30. Clearly this was a calculated deception effort on his part.

Did the first two round with the rx'd 275# but had to scale to 255# to start the third round

Feeling sorry for myself again this morning but 275lbs woke me up quickly. One more deadlift wouldve broken my will.
Side Note: Make sure that when you start to get tired you are still getting a full burpee in. I believe the burpee is an 8 count exercise so dont cut out steps or you will lose the full range of motion.

7:46 as Rx'd. I would like to thank Dan Hogan for one, keeping us all honest, and two for giving me a quick kick in the junk this morning when he pointed out my mistake of posting 255lbs instead of 275lbs.

For those of you who think that being a small guy is a disadvantage, I give you this. Speal, the one on the right in this video, weighs less than 150lbs and kills this workout in 2:44.

And finally, next time NM violates article 14 we will but MattF on his back and make him go from the basement to the forth floor 10 rounds for time.

Shout outs to RW and B&G CF who coached and encouraged me through this one...made a huge difference.

Really need to continue work on dead lift form when fatigued...I think rounds 4-5, especially, were rough this AM.

Looking forward to RW and B&G CF's WOD for CF Friday tomorrow...looks pretty sick.

that was a good wgt for me. Look forward to seeing how i do next time at that wgt. Burpees felt good today. had that drop dead pose on the ground so WOD had effects on target....like that DB?

6:41 with 225. My deadlifts felt good but I feel if I had gone up too much more in weight my form would have gone to crap. Bring on the filthy fifty!
